Old Peoples Homes
We go into 26 Senior Citizens Residential homes (including dementia homes) on a regular basis taking short services for the residents, The work commenced in December 2004 and is led by Rev. David J. Brown (a retired Elim Minister). The team has various talents and takes short services in the homes for the benefit of the residents and staff. Many senior citizens find this beneficial especially those who are not in a position to get out to go to church even if they wanted to.
The team of fourteen members comprises of David and Anita Brown, Margaret Phillips, Dianne Hare, Doreen Beesley, Marjorie Barnes, Roy Warrender, Pauline Howells, John Evans, James Jarvis, Maureen Moor, Maureen Cooke, Maureen Moore, Lucian & Noami Wijesinghe.
Services in the homes are taken on monthly, bi-monthly and quarterly intervals depending on the home. In a six monthly cycle, the team comes into contact with some five to six hundred senior citizens.
